Marianna
was founded in
1870 by pioneers who came up the St. Francis River from the mighty
Mississippi and settled here because of its strategic location and
natural resources.
Standing on the threshold
of the 21st century, Marianna continues to attract people because
of its strategic location and quality of life. Cradled in Crowley's
Ridge, Marianna is bordered by rich farmland and the St. Francis
National Forest, with easy access to Bear Creek Lake. These rich
natural resources support our diversified economic base and offer
plentiful hunting, fishing and other recreational opportunities.
Marianna is a beautiful
city with a rich history, a great deal of civic pride and a strong
volunteer spirit. We invite you to raise your family here and join
us as we build our future together.
